About Enfield Baptist Church

About Us:
Enfield Baptist Church, like most Baptist Churches in South Australia, while self governing and responsible to its own membership, is also part of the South Australian Baptist 'family of churches' - through its membership of the South Australian Baptist Union. Baptist churches while part of this wider family are free to shape their own ministries according to local needs.

Our Vision:
More people more like Jesus

What we believe:
In a Baptist church members play an active role in the decision-making life of the local church. As we meet together, we discover more about what Jesus is saying to us personally and collectively.

Baptists believe that we follow Jesus personally using the Bible as our guide. We believe the Bible is God's inspired word to us, in which we discover His purposes and therefore our life values.

We believe that Jesus, by his death and resurrection, paid the price for our sins enabling us to receive salvation by faith, through God's grace alone.

We believe in the Trinity - God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Everyone is equal before God and has been given different gifts to enable them to contribute to the life and work of the Church.

We believe that baptism, - the act of being placed under water and then brought up again, - is symbolic of Jesus' death and resurrection. While being baptised does not make a person right with God, it clearly demonstrates that a person has chosen to follow Him in faith and obedience.

We invite all Christians to participate in communion services as a regular reminder of the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross our behalf.

We believe that Jesus Christ will fulfill his promise to return again to this earth to make all things right under his reign as King.

God calls us to be concerned for our world in many different ways. This means that we are concerned about such issues as poverty, justice, freedom, equality, and the environment. We believe God would have us respond to the whole person body, mind and spirit.

Our Corporate Service style:
Worship is expressed in many ways, not just through music. At Enfield Baptist Church we believe that worship is not confined to the weekly church services. Worship is putting God first, honouring him, trusting in him - in our every thought, word, deed and attitude. Worship is about understanding our place in the Story of God. That is, God is the Star of the story, we are not. Yet, God has called us into the Story to tell of His renown and be a light to the nations.

Our music is carefully and specifically chosen to encourage and uplift our congregation, but most importantly to paint a great and accurate picture of our Great God.

The songs we sing represent some of the most congregationally friendly songs used in churches around the world. They are designed to build the faith of those who attend our church; to tell of the story of God; to make his name great; and to provide a ministry of healing to those who are hurting.

As a general rule, our Sunday morning services differ only slightly. The same content, song selection, band, and message are delivered in each service. Each service is designed to be uplifting, inspiring, engaging, Spirit led and intended to help us better understand the story of God and our participation in it - so that we can live life well. The 9.00am service has a reverent, classic-edge, as well as a lower overall volume. Great for those who like their sound levels softer. The 10.45am service has a fuller sound and embraces a more current-edge. Great for those who like a lively and spirited celebration.
